Can I cancel my order or return my items?
We are able to accept cancellations on items without charge within 48 hours from order.
Once items have gone into production or order processed with suppliers and customer cancels order we will refund total less £200 from order. This covers the costs incurred.
Returns are accepted within 14 days on unopened beds only subject to a £200 deduction made on the purchase amount to cover costs incurred. Returns are buyers responsibility and must be returned with signed and tracked delivery.
We do not hold bed stocks as there is a large variety of designs, colours, sizes and fabrics. Therefore a handling charge of £200 is deducted from total purchase price, also covering any delivery costs incurred.
Returns are not accepted on mattresses due to HYGENIC reasons and as such are not covered by the distant selling regulations. Any other furniture items ordered in for customers will be subject to 50% handling charge on any accepted returns.
It is the customers responsibility to ensure the bed will fit into their home and desired room. If unsure please ask for exact dimensions for the bed type you require.
How do Gables Beds offer such low prices on quality products?
We are able to offer huge discounts on our products for two main reasons. Firstly we purchase directly from manufacturers, secondly we use a fulfilment service with couriers. Therefore we save on storage and showroom costs which are passed to our customers.
Why do Gables Beds have only a small selection of mattresses?
We are trying to offer a simple and effective way for buyers to get their next mattress with minimal confusion and complications. Like you we too have previously bought mattresses ourselves and understand how confusing it can be when choosing from dozens to hundreds of choices. We are confident from our exclusive range that we have something for everyone. We specialise in natural mattresses for a healthier sleep.
Which is the best mattress Gables Beds sells?
This has no right or wrong answer. A best mattress is a very personal choice and will vary from person to person. The main thing our buyers should know is that we are passionate about our products and are confident you will get the right mattress, after all you know yourself best if you prefer medium, medium firm or firm support levels.
What warranty does Gables Beds offer?

Why does my new mattress have a smell?
All mattresses in the UK have to meet safety regulations. There regulations include but are not limited to, fire retardant regulations, anti-allergy and dust mite properties. These leave a smell on the mattress for its own protection in storage. Therefore the mattress should be left to air for a minimum of 72 hours before use. In some cases this can be 4 to 5 weeks before disappearing, however is completely safe to use.
Orthopaedic Mattress
Orthopaedic mattresses have come a long way in recent years. You no longer need to have a rock hard mattress for orthopaedic properties. Our selection of mattresses can assist for spinal, back and orthopaedic support while providing excellent comfort.
Memory Foam Mattress
Memory foam mattresses offer a good pressure relief feeling with comfort. People do have complaints for feeling increased heat but this is normal for a memory foam mattress. They respond to individual shape and pressure.
Latex Mattress
Latex mattresses offer excellent body support, comfort and resilience for a quicker than memory foam bounce back. Latex mattress users do not suffer with the increased heat associated with memory foam mattresses. They are also excellent for allergy sufferers and can significantly help various conditions like hay fever. They are very durable and also have good independent support for the users.
Natural mattress
Natural mattresses are a traditional feel mattress. Designed with the finest quality products which promote a temperature controlled, breathable, comfortable and supportive sleep. They provide additional luxury and insulation properties. Often highly resilient and provide a soft feel.
How long will it take to receive my order from Gables Beds
All our beds are manufactured to order therefore they can be delivered in up to 21 days.
Smaller items like duvets / pillows are usually delivered in 5 – 10 working days.
Roll packed mattresses will show delivery times on the product and usually delivered within 5 working days.

Why are two similar mattresses so widely different in price?
Chances are they are not as similar as they seem. They might both claim to be predominantly of the same construction, but further investigation will probably reveal different material qualities, densities, amounts etc. If you want to comparative shop you will need a lot of detail to make sure you are comparing like for like. What should I pay for a good mattress?
Prices for beds range from well under £100 to several thousands. As a general rule you get what you pay for. Remember that every £100 you spend on a new bed actually represents an investment of just 2.7p a night (assuming a lifespan of seven years). A bargain bed is no bargain if you don’t sleep well in it. Do I need a new mattress?
Beds don’t last forever. Even if it looks okay, it may not be giving you the support and comfort you need for a good night’s sleep. Have you had your mattress for more than seven years? Do you wake up with aches or pains? Are you sleeping as well as you was a year ago? Have you had a better night sleep in another bed? Does your mattress show signs of wear and tear? If you answer yes to any one of these chances are you are in need of a new mattress.
I saw a mattress on eBay similar to yours for much less?
Gables beds mattresses are all UK fire and safety regulated. The mattresses are professional manufactured to high standards and utilising quality fillings. You can imagine if retailers are selling for £100 then it was probably manufactured for less than £50! Imagine the corners that must have been cut for a mattress to be made and sold for these prices. Large manufacturers use the latest technologies and spend a lot of money on research and development therefore commands a higher price. Don’t fall victim to false economy. Buy once, buy right, buy the best and your body will thank you for it in the mornings.
